How to Ship Your Bouquet — Floral Keepsakes by Lauri
Shipping Instructions

Packing Your Bouquet to Ship to Us

Can't drop off in person? Follow these steps carefully to make sure your flowers arrive fresh and ready for preservation.

⚠️ Never put your bouquet in the freezer. Keep your flowers in a cool place, but be careful with refrigerators — some run cold enough to freeze the flowers and ruin them for preservation. Keep your bouquet in a vase of water (or if it has a foam holder, keep the foam moist) until you are ready to pack and ship.

Important: The sooner we receive your flowers after your event, the better your preservation will turn out. Overnight shipping is required — do not use standard ground shipping.

What You'll Need

Always needed
  • A box slightly larger than your bouquet
  • Packing material — paper towels, newspaper, or packing peanuts
  • Packing tape to seal the box
  • A frozen coolant block (keeps flowers fresh during shipping)
  • A note with your name and order number
For hand-tied bouquets
  • Method 1 (best): Stem tubes — ask your florist
  • Method 2: Zip-lock bag, paper towels, and an elastic band

Step 1 — Prepare Your Bouquet

Bouquet with a foam stem holder
Hold your bouquet under a gently running faucet for a few seconds to fill the oasis foam with cold water. Shake off any excess water that drips onto the flowers.
Hand-tied bouquet (no foam)
Best option: Ask your florist for water tubes for each stem. Fill each tube with water and place on the bottom of each stem.

If tubes aren't available: Dampen paper towels, place them in a zip-lock bag with a little water, insert the stems, and secure tightly with an elastic band.

Step 2 — Pack the Box

1

Prepare the coolant block

Make sure your coolant block is fully frozen. Seal it inside a zip-lock bag and tape it securely to the bottom of the shipping box with packing tape.

2

Create a nest for your bouquet

Add a layer of packing peanuts or crumpled newspaper on top of the coolant block to create a cushioned nest at the bottom of the box.

3

Place your bouquet in the box

Place your bouquet facing upward. Cover the top with a layer of paper towels, then fill the rest of the box — including the sides — with packing material. Pack it firmly enough to keep the bouquet stable, but not so tight that it squishes the flowers.

4

Download, print and include the required form

You must include the form below inside your box. Print it, fill it out completely, and place it inside an envelope attached to the inside of the box. This form includes your contact details, event information, and payment — without it we cannot begin processing your flowers.

⚠️ Forgetting this form will delay your order.

We cannot begin preserving your flowers until we receive this completed form. If it is missing your order will be placed on hold until we hear from you — which may affect the quality of your preservation.

Print, fill out completely, place in an envelope and attach to the inside of the box.

5

Seal the box

Close and seal the box securely with packing tape.

Step 3 — Ship Overnight

Overnight or 2-Day shipping only — use FedEx or UPS. Standard ground shipping takes too long and your flowers will not survive the journey. Once your package is on the way, please email us your tracking number at fkbl@comcast.net so we know to expect it.
